Brest railway station detail
The public realm is spick and span in Belarus. Soviet symbolism is also retained more thoroughly than it is in Russia. However continuity symbolism is as far as it goes, the country being run by 'Europe's last dictator' President Lukashenko since 1994. Lukashenko also keeps the country broadly within Putin's camp with Belarus hosting the administration of the CIS (the post USSR federation championed by Putin). Its active secret police has kept the KGB name and any opposition of any kind in check.
